We are going to Thailand again in the winter of 2019/2020.
Usually we go early, in December or January, but Pia would like to be in Thailand on April
13 because there is a memorial for her deceased close family in Wat Soong, the local temple.
It works out well for Tom because then the hay fever time in the Netherlands is almost over
when he returns.
We will see how it goes with the warm period in Thailand.
When we are in Thailand, a new type of flu breaks out that will later be called Covid-19.
It turns out to be a highly contagious and also a very dangerous virus that quickly kills
all over the world.
Whole countries close their borders to foreigners, public life in many countries is
virtually silent, parts of countries are hermetically sealed.
As a result, after our booked return trip is canceled, we leave earlier for the Netherlands.
We have to buy new tickets for that, and that flight is also canceled.
But in the end we come home two weeks earlier than planned.

We tell what we have done and experienced during a trip and we also tell what we think about it; no more and no less.
This is not a travel guide, nor is it advice to visit a place or not.
There are other sites for that.
Our opinion about places where we have eaten, drunk or slept is not intended as a (positive or negative) assessment,
there are other sites for that.
It is our view of the situation at a certain moment and that view is influenced by our mood,
the weather and many other factors.
